Kundalini yoga therapy applies the practice of Kundalini yoga as a one to one therapy.
All illness and dis-ease is rooted in the energy of the body and mind becoming out of balance. Continual stress can manifest in the physical body as illness and dis-ease. Genetic history may also give us a tendency to a certain illness or dis-ease. Kundalini yoga balances the energy to create and maintain a healthy physical body and give us emotional balance. It gives us a heightened awareness to heal our perspective and promote the body's inherent ability to heal itself.
Understandably, when we focus on an illness or disease we bind energy to that condition and it roots itself further into our body. A dis-ease is simply an imbalance in the energy in the body. By labelling something, for example an illness, we give it stronger boundaries and may feel our recovery is not as easy to achieve. Kundalini yoga breaks down those barriers to open up perspective. It helps us to operate from the neutral mind to invoke peace, stillness and calm within. By healthily detaching from any difficulties in life, we give them space and create a more stable environment to heal.
Key to healing with Kundalini yoga therapy is discipline, trust and patience. We take responsibility for ourselves and our healing. We use a combination of specific pranayama (breath), asanas (postures), kriyas (a sequence) and meditation to strengthen the nervous system, balance the glandular system, focus the mind and energize the body whilst promoting relaxation. An important part of any healing process is to rediscover the ability to completely relax the body and mind. When we find that inner peace, we start to heal. We completely surrender to our set of circumstances and, at that point, the healing truly starts. Kundalini yoga therapy may include any of the following:
